You’ve probably heard this saying: “Humility isn’t thinking less of yourself—it’s thinking of yourself less.”
We live in a culture that has trained us to look out for ourselves first. But that’s not how God wants us to live. He actually challenges us to take an interest in others. And there’s no better way to train our hearts in this way than to serve.
When you step into someone else’s needs, a shift begins to happen. You learn to listen more, complain less, and look beyond your personal needs and desires.
Your needs matter—and they matter to God, too. But he doesn’t want us to lose sight of the other needs that exist in the world. In fact, he wants to use you to help meet those needs and make his love easy to see.
