Read: 2 Timothy 1:3-8
Head
Timothy wasn't a famous leader when Paul wrote these words. He was young, possibly insecure, and stepping into a responsibility that felt bigger than him. Yet Paul reminds him that God had already given him everything he needed.
One of the beautiful things about Timothy's story is that faith was passed down through generations. Paul reminds Timothy of the sincere faith first seen in his grandmother Lois and his mother Eunice. Timothy's story shows that God often works through ordinary people faithfully investing in others.
Paul's encouragement is simple: don't wait until you feel completely ready. Use what God's already given you.
The kingdom of God advances when ordinary people faithfully use ordinary gifts in extraordinary ways because God's at work through them.
Heart
Many young adults believe they need to become someone important before God can use them. They wait for more knowledge, more confidence, more experience, or a better opportunity.
But Timothy reminds us that God doesn't call us someday. He calls us today.
Where might God already be inviting you to step forward?
Hands
Identify one gift, ability, or opportunity God has given you.
Take one step today to use it: encourage someone, serve someone, lead something, share your faith, or begin something God has placed on your heart.
Pray: God, thank you for trusting me with gifts and opportunities. Help me not waste what you've given me. Give me courage to step forward, faith to trust you, and humility to use my life for your purposes. Amen.
