ReadRuth 1:16-17

Head

Ruth's story isn’t filled with dramatic miracles or iconic quotes. She isn’t a king, prophet, or warrior. She’s a young woman who simply chooses faithfulness in ordinary circumstances.

After losing her husband, Ruth chooses to stay with her mother-in-law Naomi instead of returning to the easier life she knew. Her decision seems small, but God uses her faithfulness to become part of the family line that leads to King David—and ultimately Jesus.

Ruth reminds us that God often works through ordinary acts of love, kindness, and loyalty. It shows that God doesn’t build his kingdom exclusively through famous moments and powerful people, but through thousands of faithful choices made by ordinary people.

Heart

We often underestimate the significance of small acts of obedience. We think our lives only matter if we do something big. But God created you with a purpose in mind, and even the smallest acts count toward living it out.

Who has God placed in your life that needs your faithfulness right now?

Hands

Choose one person today and intentionally bless them. Send them a text with something encouraging. Offer to serve without expecting anything in return. Ask if you can pray for something that’s going on in their life—and do it right then.

Pray: God, help me see the value of ordinary faithfulness. Teach me to love people well and trust that you can use even small acts of obedience for your greater purposes. Amen.
